Insurance coverage depends on your provider and list of benefits. Some insurance plans require a co-payment at the time of visit, while others require patients to pay a percentage or deductible. Most work-related and auto-related injuries are fully covered. We request that you check with your insurance company to determine your coverage prior to your initial visit. If you need further assistance, please contact our front office and we’ll do our best to determine what physical therapy benefits you may have.

You don’t have to stop receiving physical therapy, just because your insurance benefits have reached their maximum usage.
Brooklyn Body Works Physical Therapy, recognizes the consistent decline in the amount of physical therapy benefits given out by insurance companies. Often, our patients feel “cut off” from physical therapy visits, although the need for continued physical therapy is still vital and medically necessary. That is why Brooklyn Body Works Physical Therapy, developed the Aftercare Program, which is designed specifically for our clients whose insurance no longer covers their physical therapy sessions.
Here are a few great reasons to consider our Aftercare Program:
1. Maintain, strength, conditioning and function without a lapse in treatment
2. Continue benefits of manual, hands-on therapy
3. Customize and progress your home exercise programs
4. Continue to have direct access to our skilled, experienced clinicians
5. Receive discounted rates that meet your economical restrictions
If you’ve come this far and shown massive improvement, why stop your physical therapy individualized plan of care now?
Don’t let time lapse between your physical therapy visits because of your health insurance. Call and ask about our Aftercare Program today. We offer affordable rates and a multitude of package options.
You do not need a prescription in New York as it is your right to have “direct access” to physical therapy services. However, your health insurance may require you to be seen by a doctor prior to starting therapy. We always recommend that all of our patients be seen by a primary care physician or specialist. If you are required to be seen first, your doctor will than write a prescription for physical therapy, which allows our therapists to have more information related to your injury.
The need for a referral depends on what type of insurance you have. Most insurance plans do not require one, however some insurances do. For example, if you have HIP, you will need a referral from your primary care physician. We ask that you check to see what your health insurance plan requires prior to your initial visit. If you are unsure, please contact our front office and we’ll do our best to determine whether or not you require a referral.
