About Us - Matt Spiegelman, MPT, OCS, CSCS
Matt Spiegelman, MPT, OCS, CSCS, Owner and Director of Brooklyn Body Works Physical Therapy, P.C. has been practicing physical therapy since 1999. He graduated from Emory University in Atlanta, GA earning his Master of Physical Therapy degree (MPT) with Highest Honors . Matt is an expert in the treatment of all sports and orthopedic injuries and specializes in post-surgical physical therapy and rehabilitation. In 2012, Matt became a board certified orthopedic clinical specialist (OCS) through the American Physical Therapy Association. Matt emphasizes educating his patients in all aspects of their rehabilitation including their diagnosis, prognosis and progression of their treatment from the initial visit to discharge. His philosophy and that of Brooklyn Body Works Physical Therapy in general, is to approach each physical therapy session as an opportunity to educate a person to better care for themselves while implementing a unique strategy in managing the individual's specific case. Treatment sessions include the extensive use of manual therapy techniques, therapeutic and sport specific exercises and functional training. Matt is also a certified strength and conditioning specialist (CSCS) and has extensive knowledge and experience in the application of specific exercises to manage all levels of patients from sedentary individuals to professional athletes and performance artists. Matt has worked professional athletes from MLB, NBA, major league lacrosse and performance artists including the Red Hot Chilli Peppers and those from Broadway shows such as the Lion King.
Matt is currently developing the Sports Specific Training and Rehabilitation program at BBWPT and is pursuing his certification as a functional manual therapist through the Institute of Physical Arts (CFMT).
Matthew is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) and it’s New York chapter as well (NYPTA) and is available for consultation.
